Last summer I spent 3 weeks in the hospital (2 seperate stays), for a severe infection. It was diagnosed as severe cellulitis from being bitten by a cat. I had to eventually have surgery. They surgically cut open my arm to clean out the infection and allow it to drain. Days later I went back to surgery to close the wound and put in a drain. I went home on IV anitbotics through a PIC line. After over 5 weeks I was finally deemed cured. The question that I have is that after 10 months now I still have pain and muscle weakness in that arm. Is there any residual effects from this type of illness (such as the pain and weakness that I am experiencing)? If so, will it be permanent and is there any treatment for this. Thank you for any reply.
