I asked Dr. Joshua my question, but decided to post here to see if anyone knows anything about my problem.
This week I was diagnosed with numerous thryroid nodules, via an ultrasound examination of my throat. Does anyone know about this? My doc wants to send me for nuclear testing, but I don't want to do that. I don't see any benefits, and I see a couple of huge drawbacks (can't get pregnant for a year, will be very sick for a few days afterward). From what I understand, they have to remove the thyroid surgically, anyway. What will this test tell them that sectioning the removed thyroid won't tell them?
What causes numerous thyroid nodules to pop up all of a sudden, or to start growing rapidly all of a sudden? Although I've had hypothyroid symptoms for years now (with "normal" blood tests), I didn't feel anything in my throat, then suddenly did, and it's getting worse day by day, so that tells me they're growing pretty rapidly.
I'd appreciate any information/comments on this.
