27 y/o male, 200 lbs, appear in generally good health, smoke cigarettes, drink moderately, normally low blood pressure. 5 Nights ago I made a foolish error and snorted large (unknown, possible 80-100 mg) quantity of crushed adderall xr while drunk. Heart was pounding with high (120ish beats per minute) pulse, couldn't sleep that night. Have had mild heart palpitations on and off for the past 5 days since doing this. Yesterday, had left-side chest pain, but it has dissapeared since then. Question is basically: Can a single episode of adderall overdose cause irreversible heart damage? could that overdose be causing these palpitations and NOT be harmful? What should I do? I do not have health insurance, would like to avoid ECHO due to cost. One more important piece of info: I have felt these palpitations before, when I was in school AND working AND taking small daily non-xr prescription adderall (10-15 mg / day). I was not getting much sleep and chalked it up to lack of sleep, caffiene, adderall, stress. Eventually they went away, all but for occasionally. Also experiencing back pain, but I am quite sure it is due to my physically strenuous job. Nervous, hoping for some answers, will NOT being doing that again. Thanks in advance.
