A woman I recently met shared with me that in her family is a genetic eye disorder (central aerial macular dystrophy) that her physicians "think" that she has. She expects to lose all or most of her vision by age 37 (she is now 23) and that if she has biological children, that they would have a 100% probability of suffering from the disorder themselves. I have looked everywhere online yet I can find not a single resource that outlines/details central aerial macular dystrophy, including how it progresses, its symptoms, its influence in genetics, and its treatments & prognosis. I would appreciate being forwarded case studies, disorder overviews, and/or any other information one can share with me on the subject of central aerial macular dystrophy. Thank you for your help!
