Hello Doctor,

I am 18 years old, and have been trying very hard to drop some extra weight that I picked up during an emotional-eating phase at college. I am currently 148 lbs, and 5'2". A year ago, I weighed 120 lbs and looked much better, but I can't seem to get back there. For both health and wardrobe reasons, I have been trying to lose the excess 30 pounds. I still only have about 5-6 outfits to choose from that fit. For about 3 weeks, I have kept my calorie intake between 700-1200 calories (never above 1200, and sometimes less). I exercise 3-4 times a week, either by running or riding a stationary bike. I have only managed to lose 2 pounds so far. Not everything that I have eaten has been "diet" or healthy, but I have been carefully logging my calories using FitDay.com. There's got to be a faster way to do this without completely starving myself.

I would appreciate any kind of help.

Thanks,
Claire Rose

It seems there is no easy way, mostly longterm lifestyle changes. Heres a link from Dr. Joshua.

Good Luck. It takes time time and more time.

First off, the protein thing. As nc_bmac08 said, this diet is set up to gain muscle, and that's what the protein is going to do for you - geared toward losing fat and maintaining/gaining muscle. That said, adding more protein may help your body burn that fat - I would recommend adding in a protein shake to your diet (these are great after workouts!). I really like whey protein, but soy or egg work as well. With the whey, you want to look for something around 100 calories, 20ish grams of protein, and hopefully 0 fat per serving. The taste may take a little getting used to, I'll admit, but after you've had a few, a smoothie will taste strange without it! or try a couple different protein powders to see which one you like best.
Hope this helps!!!!

It might be as diet does not suits your body. So take proper balanced diet but on the same time increase your physical work out.

That's the most annoying enemy we encounter ladies. If we gain more weight. There are some common reason for this one such as depression and in proper eating habit. Take some exercise and If you are so frustrated regarding with this one. Then seek help from specialist for you to relieve.
