I need some help. We have found some black mold in our house I was wondering is it safe to stay in here while we remove it . It has been in here for a bit but my husband thinks I am overreacting. I have been coughing alot and having heachaches my daughter has been nauseous and having headaches alot and cold symptoms. He said he will get around to it. Just how dangerous is it?

I do know that toxic black mold can cause the symptoms you are describing and that it can spread quickly in the house. If that is what you have I recommend having professionals come in to get rid of it quickly.

Hi,

Mold and spores can cause a host of reactions. Heres a link.

What is causing this mold to grow, are you in wet area or water under your house. Clean up of the cause is necessary. Good Luck.

Well, I personally didn't have a problem with it. But after hurricane Charley in FL (when I lived there) a lot of the houses developed the toxic black mold and people were not allowed to stay in their homes. All their clothes had to be cleaned - every thing had to be cleaned with a bleach solution and what couldn't had to be thrown out. If it were me, if it was just a little bit of mold I would have it professionally removed and cleaned and figure out where it came from to prevent it from coming back. If it was a lot or if not sure if there is more in your home I would stay some where else while it is being taken care of. Sorry can't help you any more than that. Good luck!

thanx for the replies. I did find some info on another site that helped and from an outside source. We have to block off the room and basically tear it apart and clean it with masks on etc. And use a cleaning solution .Replacing insulation , wallboard and some wood. Big job but worth it. Thank you again.
