Hello!
I usually have a healthy diet. I am 18, female and I am a vegetarian, so I eat loads of fruit and veggies, high fibre, good balance of carbs. About twice a week I make a big meal with more carbs than usual. I drink lots of water and have less than 10 alcoholic beverages in a week. I dont usually eat chips or candy ( very minimum, once-twice a month). For the past two weeks I have been working out for 1-2 hours a day, mostly cardio. Before that I was working out at least twice a week for 30 mins. However, I have gained weight!! In the past 4 Months I have gained 20 lbs!! I have not started a new birth control either. Why is this happening?

did you burn more calories than you got from the food?

do you do your exercise right way?

there can be several reasons for that

Hi zarasutra. Welcome to the forum. Burning more calories than you have taken in can contribute to weight loss. You may not see immediate result from healthy lifestyle practices that were done for just a couple of weeks. You mentioned your alcohol intake, but alcoholic drinks vary in the amount of carbs.

You should consider consulting your family physician about your weight loss concerns. Your doctor can check if you have health conditions that
can cause problems with metabolism. Such medical problems can make weigh loss rather difficult. Good luck.
