My 6 yo daguhter had a fever of 103-105 for 6 days, red throat with pus. She started amoxil on day 2. She also had severe throat pain, very bad headache, bad upper left and mid abdominal pain - sore to the touch. her neck was sore (not stiff) and so was her left shoulder and wrist and right forearm and left hip. Occasionally she complained of chest pain that was worse on the inhale. Glands are very swollen. She did vomit about 2 or 3 times and almost vomited a number of times. She had blood work done, mono test was neg. WBC was 18600, neutrohils 13400,monocytes1900 and her sedementation rate was 32mm/h. Fever finally went away on day 7, and all other symptoms are diminished as well. She is tiring more easily as well. Glands are still swollen. She never had a swab done of her throat. Does this sound like just strep? Or should I have her re-evaluated?
Thanks!!!

Hi angayla17

Welcome, Just a reminder its not necessary to post duplicate messages in different topics as your question will been seen. I'm not a Dr. so I can't say if its strep or not. I can say that if your child is still not feeling well even though the fever is down its worth a call or a repeat exam to be sure. Its always best not to take any chances with children, their symptoms can change drastically in a very short time. Call the Dr. so he is aware and for further instructions etc. Good Luck

Thanks, i will remember that!
I have actually since made an appt. to see the ped. on Monday am. She is much better, but I am still somewhat concerned. Hopefully everything is all better by then,
thanks again!!
