About 8 weeks ago my 15 year old slipped on a rug and dislocated her finger. The finger is healed but she is getting a shooting pain from her elbow to wrist at various times throughout the day. The urgent care doctor said she felt the ulnar nerve was bruised. The orthopedist said he thought it was tendenitis as a result of the fall or a bruised ulnar nerve and either way the treatment was the same. He showed her different excersises to do. When I looked up ulnar nerve problems on the internet it said resting the arm is suggested if the nerve is compressed. He didn't say it was compressed but I couldn't find much out about nerve bruising although I am still looking. He did say she was the youngest tendenitis person he has seen. I think the nerve is bruised because the urgent care doctor mentioned the nerve being the problem. He also said the tylenol 3 with codeine the urgent care doctor gave her was a bad medicine. She has her arm in a sling now which she says helps. Any suggestions/opinions? Thank you.
