Is this the Flu?

I have a fever along with chills that have had my whole body shaking, but this comes and goes through out the day and night. I feel nausea after i eat and drink but have experienced no vomiting. I feel very washed out and tired along with light headiness, i have also experienced some weight loss. It has been almost a week with the symptoms getting worse.
are these symptoms of the flu? or something else
