hello,
i am a 47 yr. old male who had a shoulder scope surgery in april of this yr.
the surgeon took 2-xrays and said that i had "a bone spur". (the reason for the visit was lack of range of motion. no pain and was'nt effecting my work outs or most of my daily routine. )
so surgery was scehduled. when i was out of surgery i was told i had gleno-humeral ostioartheritis and told he "bought me 1 maybe 2 years" before i was going to have to have a shoulder replacement! well, that did'nt set with me to well. so off to re-hab i went. when the therapists kept hearing my shoulder grind and crunch i was sent to have an MRI. those results showed more bone spurs, labrum tear, calcification of the upper biceps tendon and stage 4 of glen-humeral ost.arth.!!
my question is:1: how did this guy miss so much while in the shoulder? 2: why did'nt he use an MRI to double check his findings? 3: what is the healing time scope surgery on my type of damage?
the shoulder hurts constantly now. but i have been able to get to the gym and do some other manual things in the last2-3 weeks. i am extremely active. i am very upset that this dr. did'nt check with an MRI 1st so as to avoid surgery alltogether until it was finally needed. other than some pinching and range problems, my shoulder did'nt hurt at all untill after surgery!
thank you
