Xanax - Worried about Seizures

I was recently prescribed Xanax for my anxiety. I have the .25 mg pills to be taken as needed. However, I am worried that I might have a seizure while taking Xanax. I have heard that you can have seizures while coming off the drug. How common are seizures with Xanax? Could this happen to me? Thanks.

It took about 1 mg to 2 mg per day for a month, or maybe a little more. Am I at risk for seizures? I want to go to a maximum of 1 mg daily or every other day. Suggestions? I am not under the care of a doctor because mine started playing. I fear that may reach a point where I am struggling with this. I am ready to make sure I do not reach this level of danger.

@albert- I definitely recommend that you visit your doctor to find out if you need dosage adjustment.
