...check out [link removed]. i've been going to my doctor for years and there was a reason for that - he was engaging, respectful, and knowledgable. Then about a year ago that started to change - he became more detached and was getting crankier. Then on my most recent trip to his office he was back to his old self! What gives? I asked. He told me had completed a program designed by [link removed]. Their program is specifically geared towards physicians who have been "burntout"

so next time your doc gives you a quick "take some tylenol" diagnosis tell him he's the one who should get a check up.

Its good to remember that even physicians are human and have high stress level triggers in their lives. Its also good to keep focused on why you are there for your visit. As long I feel comfortable my symptoms are being addressed and proper tests for a diagnosis I don't pry into his attitude for the day.

I tend to expect too much from doctors. In my opinion, they should show compassion
for patients regardless of how busy they are or if they have personal problems to deal with. Let's put it this way, if you were in the restaurant and the waiter slams the plates on the table because he is having a bad day, would that be acceptable? I won't waste my time by telling him that he is the one who needs a check up, but I will definitely start to look for other private physicians.

Well if you feel that your doctor is not treating you well!

Tell him straight in the eye: "Where is the Hippocratic oath" you pledge when you accept responsibility as a physician! Sometimes, doctors forgot the real reason why they are doctors they just need to be reminded on their duty to the souls of this planet.:p

doctors are also human, they have emotions too..but they should learn on how to separate personal things from professional work or if they are pissed off, just dont show it infront of the patients..there so many outlets to release our anxieties but we should consider things that will not harm ourselves and other people.

Physicians are suppose to show professionalism on the job. Yes they are human and as long as the situation is appropriate, they can show their humanity.
