HELLO 2 years ago i had unprotected sex , the next day a rash covered the entire head of my penis including shaft and foreskin , i went to the doctor who said it was bacterial or fungal, i took an std test after 3 months anyway , the test was negative i have since taken another 2 tests also negative , the problem is that it keeps re-appearing mainly after sex or masturbation , i have it visually inspected twice by 2 different doctors who both agree fungal or bacterial or possibly eczema , it reacts well to hydrozole or anti bacterial creams , it normally covers the shaft head and outside foreskin on occasion it has just appeared on the head or the shaft , when it appears i apply the cream which clears up the rash on the shaft within a day but the rash on the head seems to slowly disappear after a few days IE slowly fade away , it is not painful and does not blister , surely this could not be herpes after 3 std screens and 2 independent visual exams . can you please advise me on how to rid myself of this problem

Hi. If it was a fungal infection, antibacterial creams won't help at all. It is important to determine the underlying problem to find out which medication would be help. In addition, prolonged use antibacterial or antifungal preparation may result in resistance, this means that the medications would fail to stop the growth of the disease-causing microorganisms. It would be best to seek your doctor's advise, ask him or her if you would need antifungal or antibacterial agents or whether plain steroids would be enough. You need to use the cream exactly as directed.
