I am 24 yrs. old and had a terrible car accident at 18. Ever since then I have had pains in the heart area of my chest. I experience rapid heart rate, cramping, sometimes it's a sharp stabbing pain, and sometimes it feels like my heart skips beats. When it does that, the next beat feels like it coming out of my chest. Lately though, I have had a rapid heart rate and tightening under my left breast and I am 8 months pregnant. Should I be concerned of a heart murmur or something of that nature?

This is really something you should make your Dr. aware of esp. now you are pregnant, and follow his exact instructions and treatment.

I agree with PurpleLady. While it is common to suffer from palpitations during pregnancy, and maternal heart rate rise is a normal, physiologic phenomenon, you should talk to your doctor especially if there are pains or tightness associated with this.
