MRI shows solid mass (Lump) in Parotid gland, Needle biopsy was done & blood came out & lump went down. So that means it was not solid. However, w/in and hour the lump came back much harder, bigger and painful, Why?

In 98 i had a lump near my parotid gland. went to the Dr and they did an MRI. it showed it was a tumor.. did surgery found out it was swollen gland. it was removed and benign. 12 years later a lump appears again. got an MRI and it showed a solid mass again. the DR did a biopsy of it this time.. nothing but blood came out and the lump went down immediately. he told me to come back in 2 months to do another MRI. he was confused. because the MRI showed solid mass but when he did the biopsy it was blood, dark blood. Then he took the needle and took more out, till the lump went down. he said it looked like old blood. he ask if i had any trauma or had been hit near there and i told him no.

on the way home, the lump starts to appear again, with in an hour. now its a lil more visible, than when i went in.. its more define. before he had to press down in a way to feel and see it lightly but now when you look at me i can see the lump. the size of a ping ball a little bit smaller than a golf ball. ITS about 2 inches. it big now and it hurts. i have to tale Tylenol for the pa and as soon as it runs out, i have to take more.. i called him and he said that if starts to bruise and the pain is bad and it gets really big to come in to the ER so far there is no bruise.

Im concern to know why the MRI showed solids mass and when he did the biopsy it went down and it was only blood, then with in hour its filled back up w/ & now its HARD and BIGGER and PAINFUL. pressure up due to pain i th

No, he has been my DR for years now.. he did surgery on me before. but we have an idea of what it is now vascular malformation.. going to see his partner in Neuro, when the swelling goes down. so they can properly diagnose it..
