View Full Version : Mild Stroke
My wife just had a mild stoke which appears to be from her medcine she was taking. She seems to be doing good and apprears to be almost fully recovered. What are the chance that she could have a bad stroke down the road or something?

Hi Okie,
What do you mean appears to be from the medication? I think that would depend on why she was prescribed this medication and her medical history for future perdictions of stoke. I would talk to her Dr. and discuss all your issues regarding strokes. Good Luck to you and your wife.

The medication was hormone pills. Her family does not have history of people having strokes.

Is her Dr. in agreement with the hormones being the cause of her stroke? Maybe talking this over with her Dr. he can answer all questions regarding future strokes in her case and about the hormone therapy.

Purple Lady is asking very good questions. We have very little information about your wife, her medical history and the details of the stroke, and what action was taken to prevent further strokes. The most important thing is indeed to discuss these issues with her doctor.
Yes he was in agreement. They took her off of them and she takes a asprin now a day. No one else in her family has had strokes and her mom has taken the same pill for over thirty years. My wife has been on it for about five years. The doctor said some people just react different to them. Thanks for all of your help. Her first sign was her tongue was bothering her for about three weeks and we didn't think nothing till one night her face, left arm and left leg went numb. She is doing fine now which it has been about three weeks. I would say she is about 80% now.
