lump on my finger

about a year and a half ago, my son (who didnt have any teeth at the time) bit my finger and it popped pretty loud. about 5 seconds later this purple bluish lump came up on the side of my finger. it has been there ever since and i have stuck it with pins and nothing makes it go away. it hurts very bad if i ever hit it on anything, and sometimes it gets sore for no reason. any ideas what it might be?

:confused: I'm just guessing maybe pyogenic granuloma or some sort of hemangioma. I'm not the Dr. so well have to wait and see. Your welcome to search these though. Have you been seen yet?

My guess would also be some sort of granuloma. However, it does look like something you should have looked at by your doctor.

Thank you both for your opinions. I havent had it looked at because i am kind of afraid they will want to slice it open. (I am afraid of blood and needles.) But i guess i will have to suck it up and go.

:smile: Be brave, go to the Dr. and say get this off of me. Thats what I would do. lol It won't be so bad, and don't look. They will numb it first.

ive been there plenty of times, my two incidents that come to mind, where about tw0 or three years back when i slit my middle finger on an unframed mirror, it slit down deep, when it healed it looked as if a wedding band (ring ) was under my skin just a lump was there, the tissue was healing with that kind of lok , then soon after that a soft-air pistol BB was shot point blak at the neck of my first finger and a lump buldged out just like in your pic, it was explained to me as a blunt hit because the bb did not brake my skin but it make my inner componets of my finger exsplode, and it was going to tke a long time to heal and it did and it sure was a painful time,
i put a finger brase in it, cause everything i did hurt, from getting change out of my pocket
to scratching my head. my finger was tender to the touch for 5 or 6 months.
p.s. i am affraid of needles kind'a too.

I'm thinking it's a granuloma. I had a cousin with the same issue. It worked out for her in the end! Good luck.
