I sometimes experience stomach pain after eating a meal (usually breakfast). What happens typically is that I wake-up and eat a breakfast (sometimes leftovers from the previous nights, sometimes cereal). Then I’m out the door to catch the bus to go to school/work. It takes me about 1.5 hours to reach my destination, and I usually have to transfer several times. For the first part of my trip, I have a 45 minute bus ride where I usually nap. Upon waking up at the end of the ride, I usually experience intense stomach pain. I usually proceed to the nearest gas station to use their washroom, or try to suck it up for another 30 minutes and use the washroom at school/work. My poop is always in the form of diarrhea. After I am done in the washroom, the pain immediately goes away.

Every so often, I also experience stomach pain after eating other meals (lunch, dinner) such as from Cactus Club, Macdonald's, Earls… The same situation happens. I would finish the meal, participate in some sort of activity for 30 minutes or so (walking around the mall, driving home, watching a movie) and then I would suddenly experience sharp stomach pain and end up running to the nearest washroom.

At first I thought it could have been the food I have ate. I have asked my friends/family whom I had share the meal with and they did not have any problems with it. I then thought maybe it is because my stomach disagrees with certain types of food, but I have yet to see a pattern. It seems that I can get stomach pain from just about anything I eat. The only pattern I have noticed is that I only get these stomach pains when I am not in the comfort of my own home. This leads me to believe that I have somehow manifested my pain physiologically and turned it into reality? My fear of having stomach pain in public when a washroom is not convenient has created my stomach issues? Is this a possibility, or is my stomach just really moody?

I am a 24 year old male that is in relatively healthy physical condition. Although I do have a slight belly, I exercise at least twice a week. I believe my diet is relatively healthy, but I do eat more meats then vegetables and fruits. I do not drink any milk as it gives me gas, but I do take calcium pills to make up for it.

Hi. Here some blog entries about stomach pain:

Your symptoms need to be evaluated by a physician as there are many health problems that may contribute to abdominal pain. Your doctor will be the one to tell you whether your discomfort is largely due to psychological issues. It is also important to know whether you need to avoid certain food items aside from milk. Good luck.
