I went a wk w/o a bowel movement, 2 days w) sharp pain coming & going, had b/m, 2 AM next morning, wake up with hyperactive bowel sounds, had another b/m (yellow & sticky/watery looking), very painful sharp pains hitting me all over my abdomen. Later in the morning had 2 more b/m that looked the same except there was red blood mixed in the stool, some of it looked liked clots, none was mixed in water itself or on toilet paper, took EZ Detect and it was positive. Eating or needing to have a b/m seems to be the cause of the sharp pains. B/m happens pretty fast after eating. Epigastric pain (from reflux) has worsened, other reflux symptoms also worsening. Very tender on left side, belly button area & epigastric area. Crampy in pelvic area. Passing some gas. What could cause such problems?
36 yrs old. Past diagnosis: Acid Reflux Disease, Barrett's Esophagitis (diagnosed 2 mths ago), Mild Gastritis. Gallbladder/Liver was checked a couple of mths ago & was fine.

I don't know if this is at all related, but I wore a Fisher & Paykel Oracle 452 oral face mask to sleep last night w) my cpap for the very 1st time (was wearing a nasal mask before). It seemed to irritate my abdomen, so I set my cpap on apap and put the pressure down to 4 to start off and 6 max. Can pressure from a cpap mask hurt your abdomen or was this just a couincidence? The hyperactivity in my abdomen occurred 2 1/2 hours after wearing this.

I wore my cpap mask again last night, and it didn't bother me, so that was just a couincidence.

I have heard people with high cpap settings sometimes have belching. You may research cpap via the search option.
Good Luck

My pressure is only set at 6. Could having the stomach flu cause blood to be mixed in your stool? I only did it that one day, and anytime I ate, it caused me to have a loose bowel movement within minutes. I didn't have any bowel movements otherwise. I started feeling better the next day.

You really should call your dr for blood in the stool. Good Luck

I agree with Purple Lady. Blood in stool always a reason to visit the doctor. Usually bright red blood is caused by hemorrhoids, which are quite treatable. Also, persisting, new stomach problems should be evaluated.
