I had some vision problem. After some test my Ophthalmologist referred me to neurologist for MRI. The MRI report is “A cystic mass measuring 2.3 X 2.1 X 1.09 cm is noted in pineal region. The superior aspect of cerebellum is compressed by the mass. Mild cerebellum cortical atrophy is noted as evidenced by slightly enlarged cortical sulci and increased CSF spaces over both cerebral hemispheres”. Doctors suggested operative treatment. Would someone kindly let me know the following :

1) What type of surgery do I need?

2) What are the risk and benefits of this operation?

3) What are the likely long-term effects of operation?

4) How can I best prepare myself for this operation?

5) What are the possible complications of this type of operation?

6) What will happen if I don’t have surgery?

7) Is there any other type treatment I could have?

8) What would be the approximate cost?
