I’ve had spots on my skin for the last two and a half years, they range from being and orange color to a slightly darker skin tone. Lately they’ve been worse, all over my back and right side, I never get them on my legs, and I recently had some on my neck and arms, the spots never completely clear up but some go away some come back. They don’t itch, burn, peel, nothing, they cause me no irritation but make me completely insecure, I absolutely hate living like this.

Two years ago when they popped up it was random; I was doing nothing different diet wise or health wise, no new medications, no tanning or new lotions or soaps. I’ve even moved from the south to the north so it isn’t the climate.

I’ve been to a dermatologist a high up one that takes four months to get in, I’ve been there twice, and the first time a student who was assisting the dermatologist looked them over and just didn’t really give me an answer of what they were or how to treat them. Second time I went to the dermatologist he said it was “some kind of mold” which I thought sounded very unprofessional not to tell me a reliable diagnosis. He told me to put Selsun blue on it, that barley worked.

I'm tired of living like this! What are they? I'm 16 by the way.

Yeah, I would be quite annoyed too if that was the kind of response that I would get from a doctor. Anyhow, you can either go back to that doctor and tell him that the treatment he recommended didn't work at all or consult with your primary care physician to get referral to other specialists.
