Hello. I am begging for your help!
I am 9 years post op from a roux-en-y gastric bypass. Four nights ago, I had what I believe was a bad acid reflux spell after taking nyquil for several nights.
Even after my gastric bypass, I of course have to chew carefully and sometimes my food gets "stuck" and I can't eat for about 10-30 minutes. However, after the bad reflux I have not been able to eat in four days. The tiniest bite of food takes an hour to go down, and even water won't go down. My body finally gives a few hiccups and the food or liquid goes down, but I fear Im becoming dehydrated.
I have no health insurance, except a temporary policy for catastrophic purposes. I'm becoming quite scared and really need help. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!

Hi. Barely eating for 4 days sounds really serious. Aside from your discomfort, I understand that you are also worried about possible medical expenses. However, I really think that you have to be examined by your doctor. If you will further delay your visit to the doctor, your risk for complications increase. Not having enough food can cause your blood sugar level to drop at dangerous levels. Low blood sugar or hypoglycemia can make you weak and alter the level of your consciousness.
