Hello, all, I haven't been on here in a couple years, that's when I first started having this problem in the back of my head. It started to kinda swell up in the lower left back part of the skull. That was September 2007. I ignored it for quite some time. Then, it got worse. Then, I started having bad earaches, tinnitus, facial pains (very bad ones) and neck pain. I went to ear nose and throat, and they put me on allergy meds and prednisone. Nothing worked. Still the same. Now, two years later, I've been to ear nose and throat, an oral surgeon, a neurologist, and most recently I will be visiting a neurosurgeon. The Oral Surgeon said that he found a mass in my neck and ordered an MRI of the neck. They got the results back (May 2009) and said that the ventricles in my brain are enlarged, and they referred me to neurology. I went to the neuro, and all he said was "hydrocephalus." He ordered an MRI of the brain. They got those results back and said I had a Chiari Malformation Type II and that hydro was NOT present. They haven't given me any real answers as to why I am in pain ALL THE TIME. My head hurts, my neck hurts, face hurts real bad, ears ring, muscles feel sort of weak. They didn't send me to a neurosurgeon, I asked for it. The doctor's assistant told me that Chiari was not causing all my symptoms, so what IS??? I am at the end of my rope after doctor #5 can someone please tell me why I feel like crap all the time? And by the way, the neurologist said that there was NO mass in my neck but Ive had two lumps under my ears since September of 2007. No answers yet. I need some!!! Thank you!!!!

I really hope that the information from Doctor Joshua's site has helped you.

It has, and so has the neurosurgeon I went to see. He said my neurologist was incorrect and there is NO Chiari Malformation present on any of my MRIs and he doesn't know where they came up with that. It is indeed obstructive hydrocephalus, unfortunately. Thanks for your help and answers, everyone!:p
