I am a 29 yr old lady, who has had a steady fever over 100 degrees since the beginning of 2009. It started the 1st week of 2009 when I fainted. Went to the ER. After bloodwork, urine sample, CAT scan, & chest x-ray, the ER Dr told me I had a fever virus & the fever would subside in 7-10 days (at this time my fever was @ 100).
10 days went by & the fever was the same. I went to my general Dr, who did a TB test, urine sample, & CBC. He sd my urine had traces of proteins in it & after a couple of days, my TB test was negative. He told me the proteins weren't that abundant, so no need to worry. The CBC came back with my absolute lymphocytes @ 4005 cells/uL. Everything else was within normal range, so he sd I probably had a virus & it would go away on its own. He also thought my ear thermometer was faulty, but that was not the case as I tested it on other people & it worked fine.
After hearing that I pretty much quit going to the Dr., since it was getting very costly & I don't have ins., figuring this would go away, but it hasn't.
I've fainted 2 or 3 more times since this, my fever ranges day to day from 100 - 104.3 (the highest it's gotten). Tylenol, Ibuprofen, & aspirin don't lower the fever either (I've tried everything). I've lost weight (decreased appetite), sometimes have horrible headaches (in the same spot on my head), am always thirsty, & pretty much always tired.
Any direction or information would be greatly appreciated
Thanks
