Lump on Head

I have a lump on my head, it doesn't hurt me but I can always feel it. I'm really worried. I've been to the doctor and he said it was probably a cyst. How do I know if it is a cyst and is it serious? There also seems to be a dent near the lump hat feels quite tender. I get slight headaches every day.
Please help me.
