No menstrual cycle

:confused: I am 26 i have had a normal menstural cycle from the age of 9 until about 18 months ago. I started on the birth control patch ortho evra about 3 months of using the patch my period stoped, i have not had a normal menstural cycle sence that time I how ever have slight traces of blood when i wipe. this last about a day. does this count as a period, i also gained a lot of wieght while on the patch could this also have an effect on my cycle

Birth control is your personal choice and some do cause menstrual changes and have side effects. Its probably best if you ask your gyn any questions, he knows your medical history.

Hormones for birth control as well as marked weight gain may both cause irregular periods. Also, pregnancy causes weight gain and stops the periods, although in your case this is unlikely given the time course of events. It's important not to use birth control products unless you are 100% certain that you are not pregnant. Like PurpleLady said, talk to your gyn about this.
