I went to the doctor about five months ago after being sick a couple months before that and not feeling all better. I just went about three weeks ago complaining of the same symptoms that I had then, which they treated with azythromycin. Needless to say, that didnt help and they swore my chest xrays came back fine. I have been experiencing this itching sensation in my chest and back. It was only when I would sneeze, that I would feel it, but it has gotten worse and it occurs out of nowhere. The visit three weeks ago, they told me that I may have Gurd or some type of acid reflux disease, but I seriously dont believe that because it doesnt happen after I eat, it just happens anytime and I dont have a burning sensation, its an internal itching and feels like its spreading on the inside. I am worried because It seems like my doctor is just throwing random things at me and I try to explain exactly what i feel on the inside. I wish that I could just have some information as to what else it could be and if someone else may have experienced this so I will know what to do about it!

Welcome to the forum shanteeztowns,

I've never heard of this symptom internal itching in the chest and back. When you were at the Dr.'s previous why did he prescribe the azythromycin? Did you have a lung infection etc. Do you have any breathing problems or lung problems such as emphysema?
Maybe it could be vascular. I think I would ask the Dr. just what he thinks could cause this. If he has suggested GURD then did he give you medications for this condition? While I'm sure this is uncomfortable, I would persue him for answers. Good Luck
