What are the most common modern diseases? I have heard the there is plutonium in our air from spent war munitions nuke tests etc. Are these type of cases showing up? How about those cases of reactions of newly developed chemicals? Resistant bacteria? Effects form radiation in cell phones or EMF pollution? If you dont know much about this do you know where I might find this type of info? I am trying to write an artical for a news paper. Thanks

Here's the answer to one of your questions (or rather, a post inspired by your question)

Resistant bacteria are a major threat today. VRE (vancocin resistant enterococci), MRSA (methicillin resistant staphylococcus aureus), and ESBL (extended spectrum betalactamase) bacteria are causing difficult-to-treat hospital epidemics. Some ESBL strains especially are potentially resistant to all known antibiotics. Furthermore, there have been no major developments in antibiotics in recent years - infection specialists are genuinely worried about the situation. Also, tuberculosis bacteria (multidrug resistant tuberculosis) are developing resistance to a wide range of antibiotics, posing a worldwide health threat.

Of the radioactive substances, Radon is still believed to be the biggest health threat, and it cannot be eliminated - it occurs naturally in soil.
