I take 75 mg of Effexor and 20 mg of Hydrocodone a day. I want to start taking the new diet pill NV. I just want to make sure it's ok to introduce that into my daily routine. Please advise. Thanks

 Hi and welcome newgirl99,
If you want to take a diet pill along with your other meds, it would be best if you ask your Dr. who is prescribing since he knows your health related conditions, has examined you and knows your mental and physical health.
If you would like to search your drugs for contradictions, side effects etc. you can do so at the link below.
At any rate its never a good idea to take other meds without your Dr. knowing, and who knows he just may prescribe one that fits your situation in taking along with other medications.
Best of Luck,

I don't recommend NV. It's just a marketing trick and won't help you lose weight. If you do decide to start taking it, follow Purple Lady's advice and talk to the doctor who prescribed your other medication.
Good luck,

Well doctor first of all I must say that I am perfectly alright health wise and do not require the services of any medications. But being obese I am always afraid that I might be vulnerable to health issues therefore I am exercising at present, But I am very unsure whether or not to go for the diet pills, as some say these are useful while some say that these are not suitable for our cause, I am in a dilemma now, can you recommend what should I do?

Hi and welcome,
Being obese does make you vunerable to aquiring other medical conditions, such as high blood pressure, stroke, diabetes not to mention the added burden on your back and joints. I would see your DR. and discuss your weight and what he feels is safe for you. He may prescribe a medication short term to get your going along with a low calorie diet. Its wonderful you are exercising, keep it up and good luck to you.
You may search any drug via the link below.

I would say that if you get good results with Nioxin alone, then stick with it. Minoxidil is a systemic drug, and if you can get by without it, I think it is prudent to do so. I returned to minoxidil done once a day instead of twice for several months without loss of hair that result.
