I have had pain in both of my feet for the last 9 months. I went to a podiatrist who told me what the problem was( hammer toes). I went to another podiatrist who told me an entirly different answer(bunions). Both included surgical procedures, but in differnt areas of my feet. Should I seek another opinion?

Hi Jnicker,
Welcome to the forum! I definetly wouldn't go through with any surgical procedures while there are still conflicting opinions. How did each doctor come to their seperate conclusions? Did they have similar examinations and tests? Perhaps you might want to get an opinion from an orthopedic surgeon who specializes in feet to get an opinion from a different perspective.

Both of the doctor's took x-rays and then gave me their diagnosis. You're right, I have just made an appt. with an ortho-foot doctor to get a different perspective. Thanks for posting.

Hello Friends.......

Foot pain may be caused by many different things. Trauma, disease, or a combination of both are the most common causes of foot pain. Trauma is a result of forces outside of the body either directly impacting the body or forcing the body into a position where a single or combination of forces result in damage to the structures of the body. Poor biomechanical alignment may lead to foot pain.

Thanks

Foot Pain may be caused due to some ligament strain or muscle stress. One of my friend is also facing this problem but in his case he had a muscle injury which he got to know when he approached to a doctor, I think you might have same problem. Some times these problems unknowingly remain still after treatment and arise in future.
