i have question my son is 3 yrs old he is born in uk and had a bcg vaccine now. he had a ppd skin test which was positive in chicago us, and he has to take 9 month course of medicines, my question is inspite of a bcg vaccine he had tb? does he have to take medicine course if his chest x ray is normal?

If it was recommended by the doctor, then it would be best to adhere to the drug treatment. I've read that BCG vaccine is not 100% effective in protecting children against Primary Complex.
