Brown patches on back

I have brown patches on my back that itch. Some are the size of a quarter - some are much bigger. I developed one about 3 years ago, it does not itch anymore, but the brown color has stayed. Now I am developing more. Any idea what they might be?

Welcome to the forum! There are many things that could account for these dark patches. Some that come to mine are certian endocrine disorders or a sign of type II diabetes. But the list of possibilities is quite long, so its best if you see your primary care physican for an exam and history to see what's causing them. It may very well be nothing, but the only way to be sure is to see your doctor. Best of luck and keep us posted!
