Oxygen Saturation

I my grandmother was recently in a transitional nursing home. She was on a ventilator and she was supposed to be on a continuous O2 monitor. They said her O2 saturation levels dropped from 99 to 53 in a matter of 5 minutes.

My question is, how fast can your O2 Saturation levels actually drop?
