what is differance between genital herpes an genital warts?

could someone please tell me the differance between genital herpes and genital warts if there is any differance at all.I was told they were the same and am VERY confused because I grew up thinking they were not

I'm pretty sure they're different diseases. Genital herpes is caused by the herpes simplex virus while genital warts is caused by the human papillomavirus virus. You can use the google search bar on the top left of the page to get more information on either condition.

YankeeBeckham is correct. Herpes can (and should) be treated with acyclovir, while there is no effective medication for warts
