my fiances mother has just foud out she has a tumor in her lungs that spread to her throat. her aunt has gone into liver failure due to
RA meds. now her mother doesn't want treatment so that she can donate her liver to her when she dies. i would much rather not have her die, obviously. i know that some one can donate half of their liver and both patients can survive. i was wondering if someone underwent that surgery would their body be able to handle chemo both while recovering from surgery and having only half a liver. now as i am currently deployed to Iraq.

thank you

I sincerely would not begin to guess. I'm sure there are alot of variables depending on two persons medical history and predicting outcomes.

Chemiotherapy generally can damage liver, so I think that it`s rather not possible to be a liver donor in this case. Patient who has only a half of a liver is less likely to survive chemiotherapy.
