Why would I still feel nerve pain in my ear, along my jawline and in my temple area three months after hospital discharge following carotid artery surgery?

I'm not a Dr. but If I were you I would see a neruologist if your not seeing one now. See the physician who did this surgery and present him with these questions.. Ask him how long and if these symptoms will go away. Its clear you have some sort of nerve damage. He will be the better judge of this. If no satifaction from him get a second opinion to determine is this was a direct result of the carotid artery surgery, which sometimes does happen when nerves close are injured. They may order some further studies to determine. You may need to get a lawyer as well if this isnt resloved. You may google carotid artery surgery complications/ nerve pain etc. for reading. Good Luck to you.

I thought i was specific enough in my previous post. Sounds like nerve damage possible from the surgery, of course I don't know your complete medical history.

Thank you, for your information. Neither the neurologist nor the doctor who performed the surgery have told me what the cause of my nerve pain problems are, other than to say the situation needs time. It has already been over 3 months.
