Low hemoglobin + ankle sprain?

I sprained my ankle on Sunday and on Tuesday, attempting to donate blood, found my hemoglobin low at 115. Is there a correlation?:confused:

I'm not a doctor to confirm anything, but your low hemoglobin may be caused by something else.

I'm a nurse. I realize that the low hemoglobin might be caused by something else. I just wondered if there was a correlation between joint injuries and low hemoglobin. I donate quite regularly and have never been turned down -- and the only change in my health recently is this ankle injury. I've never heard of a connection and couldn't easily find one on the internet. Just curious. I'm eating steak and broccoli for the next week.
