My daughter is 13 and last week she showed me that she has a lump behind each of her ears, about were glasses would sit. One lump is about the size of a raisin the other a bit smaller, they are painful to the touch. I've just been keeping an eye on them thinking they are just cysts, if not cysts what types of cances would start this way? I know you can only give me suggestions since you are not able to see her for yourself. I'd appreciate any ideas you may have. I will take her in to have them looked at. Also, cancer runs in our family, of our 4 children our two youngest have leukemia, so I am a bit over caustious when it comes to lumps or bumps of any kind. Thank you,

Hi gresh14,
Welcome to the forum. I can remember my son had lumps behind his ears and the Pediatrician said it was swollen glands and they eventually went away. But cancer didn't run in my family as you stated it does in yours. While I'm certainly no Dr. it may pay to be over cautious in your case and have these checked out. Here is a link about lumps and glands.

Let us know how it goes.

Thank you for your response purple98lady. I have checked out that web site, thank you for posting it. I guess I just need to take her in and have them looked at. Thanks again.
