I am 17 years old and i have never really had a problem getting erections. I just recently started dating this girl, and it seems hard for me to get erections around her, even when she makes physical contact with me. I find her very attractive, but this still occurs. At first I thought it was stress, but it is stilll occuring. I am considering taking testosterone pills. Would this be a good idea?

Problems about erection be caused by physical and psychological factors. Physical causes are related to disturbance to the chain of events that lead to an erection. There are diseases that are known to affect the blood vessels, surrounding tissues and muscle of the penis. These include diabetes mellitus, kidney, neurological (nerve & brain) and vascular (blood vessel) diseases such as atherosclerosis and hypertension. There are also physical causes that are not related to diseases. Many drugs have erectile dysfunction as a side effect. Additionally, hormonal imbalance can influence the response to sexual stimuli. Discuss your symptoms with your doctors and he will be the one to recommend the best intervention for you.
