Hi again Dr Joshua;
I posted to you before, thank you for your feedback. My doctor will not refer me to a specialist, nor will he attempt to diagnose me. I am still having all of the symptoms below plus some new ones. I am unable to eat at this point because everything tastes bad ie. sweet food is much too sweet and salty food is much to salty. My doctor has referred me to a psych. and he feels that this is the problem. How can mental illness cause a fever?? It makes no sense to anybody why he will not refer me, even if his opinion is that I am nuts he should still respect my choice to see a specialist. I hope you can help me.
Thanks

Hi Dr. Joshua;
I hope you can give me some direction. For the last 4 weeks (that I have noticed, may have been going on indefinetly??) I have had a low grade fever. It have never gone higher than 100.1 and it is usually 99.7-99.9 I have also been waking up at night bathed in sweat, loss of appetite, swollen lymph nodes in neck and itching. My GP ran a urinalysis on me and found that my white blood cell count was elevated in my urine. He gave me antibiotics and that was it, the fever did not go away. 2 months ago I went to the doctor because I had a red rash (looked like measles) on my face and neck and I was itching so bad that I was literally tearing at my neck and face. He ran blood work and found that I had a bacterial infection and that my vitamin B was low. He called the bacterial infection non-specific. I was wondering if you might be able to give me some idea as to what might be wrong.
Thank you and Happy New Year.

Hi simbah.
I'm sorry you've had no resolution of your symptoms. If you don't feel like your doctor is taking you seriously, then maybe its time to consider seeing another physician. Some specialists allow you to make appointments without a referral, but that depends on the particular doctor and your insurance. If thats an option, you may want to try that. I hope you start to feel better soon! Keep us posted.

:smile: don't give up. find another doc. i have been suffering for 2 years and ive only recently been diagnosed. now that i got a good doc and caring specialist pandoras box is opening. there are a multitude of new diagnosis they are finding still including hypogammaglobulinemia. this is my body not producing enough gammaglobulins to fight off viral and bacterial infections. therefore i suffered with low grade fevers, night sweats, and several other of your same symptoms. i am just prone to infections and working as a chef i am constantly exposed to staph. dont give up. it took me 2 years and im still not finished being diagnosed. believe in yourself. educate yourself but dont scare yourself to much with alot of web info. many diseases mimic each other. i dont think it is so much docs dont care they are just overwhelmed and sometimes our own insurance companies that we pay well tie up the doctors hands. be proactive and persistant. the squeeky wheel always gets the grease.

you are in my thoughts. good luck
