Hi -
I have MS. I started having a pain under my left rib about two weeks ago that eventually started hurting all the way down to my hip area. I went to the doctor and he said that I had diverticulitis. I took the medicines and got no better then he said he would put me in the hospital to run tests and figure out what was wrong with me. Their first thought was colitis. They x-rayed my abdomen, gave me a CT scan, X-rayed my chest, ran every blood test in the world and performed a colonoscopy and found absolutely nothing. They told me that I look great on paper. They then decided that this is an MS flare up - although they did not do an MRI to confirm any new lesions. I am new to the MS world but find it hard to believe that MS could make you feel like you have razor blades in your intestines when food moves though it. I am also now having pain that goes all the way to my toes. I have an appt. to visit with my neurologist next week and they have given me many pain pills to take till I can see him. Does this sound right? Can MS effect you this way? I am very scared because I have never felt pain such as this and can't imagine that MS can effect you this way. After doing much research on the web, I don't find anyone else that has had anything like this with MS.
Thank you for your time.
