My husband has been having severe stomach pain on the right since June....we have ruled out Kidney stones & the Gallbladder with a catscan and xray, we have had the colonscopy completed with normal results & Upper Scope(they found he had a stomach infection and gave him 7 day prescription for antibotics - this was about a month ago) but he is still having alot of pain....not sure where to go from here. He just had his third ultrasound and xray with normal results. He is having constant headaches and dizziness. Any suggestions???

Sorry for your husbands discomforts. What name did the Dr. give his stomach infection? If he didn't then ask him. One stomach infection is Helicobacter Pylori which requires combination antibiotic therapy. If it is this infection and it wasnt completely taken care of he may need more treatment to prevent further complication.
Go back to his Dr. and tell him he still has the symptoms. Maybe a repeat endoscopy, but follow up is needed. You can search this bacterial infection via AskDr.Joshua.com (Helicobacter Pylori). Good Luck and let us know how he does.

JCBarte,
Your husband's stomach infection is caused by the bacteria Helicobacter Pylori (commonly called H. Pylori), and that is treated with a course of antibiotics. Since an EGD (upper endoscopy) and a colonoscopy were done, I have to assume the Gastroenterologist has done biopsies and ruled out the other gastrointestinal problems that could be ruled out. Also radiological studies have been negative so far.
Do you know if he has had a workup for abdominal aortic aneurysm? Does he have diverticular disease? I would go back to your doctor and pursue this until you get a definitive diagnosis. Abdominal pain is troublesome.
