I am a 30 year old female with continuous pain in the throat- I would say it feels like it emanates from the voicebox, almost like a dull tootache feeling- it has been going on about 3 days now. I once had this problem over 10 years ago- had every test in the book and all came back negative. I finally accepted that it might be psychosomatic in origin and tried to put my mind elsewhere, start exercising vigorously, etc. In time, it went away and has never been back until now. I am guessing that it is some sort of stress response as I am 7 months pregnant and have had scare after scare (pregnancy complication) this past month and a half leaving me extremely stressed out. I just don't know what to do about this pain now. Should I mention it to my ob/gyn or just try to tough it out and/or seek out nontraditional things like acupuncture? Should I have tests done to rule out any medical cause? Has anyone every heard of similar pain?

Thanks, Ann

hello there Ann..I think you should discuss it with your obgyne since they can handle physiological as well as psychological changes of pregnant women.. is it your first pregnancy? its normal for a pregnant women to have those kinds of worries (pregnancy complication)Just trust your doctor, it's a very big factor when you trust your doctor...and also try to attend therapies for pregnant women..it really helps..just inquire on your nearest health institution...

I do believe u should discuss it with your ob/gyn. Pregnancy is a delicate period because it is not only you who might be affected by your health condition, but the baby inside your womb as well. Share every little concern with your ob/gyn. No harm about that. :)
