I just had an open inguinal hernia repair operation. This was one week ago. Since then I have tried to have sex a few times and right before ejaculation I get a really painful sensation in my pelvic region, especially where I am still numb. It is so painful that I have to stop immediately. I have not been able to ejaculate since the surgery because it is too painful. Is this normal? I am going to my doctor in 5 more days for my post-op check up.

Please follow your Dr's post op orders regarding sex, lifting and climbing of stairs. Not doing so could hinder your healing process, and possibly cause the need for further surgery . Ask your surgeon and good luck.
