I am having left lower flank pain for about 6 months now. I have been having a moderate amount of blood in my urine and also protein. I have had xrays, CT scans, IVP's, Ultrasounds, and nothing is showing up. I have a history of kidney stones and for the past 4 months, I have had left lower side pain over my kidney. I had an xray and it showed no stones. The dr ordered blood work and said that everything was normal except an elevated wbc count which explains the fever of 100.6 I have. I had normal amounts of bilirubin and protein in my blood. My GFR estimate was within normal limits as were my creatinine. The dr also ran a hepatits panel and those results are normal. On ultrasound it showed I had left hydronephrosis but 6 days later on IVP it showed normal kidneys. My dr has also tested my for porphyria and that was normal. I am scheduled to have a cystoscopy in January but wanted some information if I could before then. I have no other urinary symptoms. No dysuria, no frequency. What could be causing this. I had no leukocytes in my urine. I am getting so aggravated. >:( Thanks so much!

Hi aeh,
I'm sorry you haven't been feel well lately. Pain can be so frustrating to deal with, especially if it stays for awhile. I don't know what is causing your symptoms, but it seems like your doctors are on it trying to figure it out. Have you had the cystoscopy yet? How did it go? I'm sorry I can't be of more help, but it looks like your doctors are doing a good job working on this. Keep pushing them for answers if your symptoms persit. Best of luck and keep us posted!
