Hi cp_man
Was reading your post. For the condom cath to be secure an erect penis is very helpful in applying. Even many paraplegics patients get an erect penis when you apply a condom cath. If a patient doesn't get an erection ,then they have to use a different system for a retracted penis. Try to think of other things when the condom is being applied, but I think this is a good thing and you should not be embarrassed. Its a normal thing for your penis to erect when stimulated and I'm not sure you can prevent this. Sometimes patients can't get an erection due to medications they are on also. I speak from my experience years ago when I was a nursing assistant and applied many a condom cath even though I'm not a Dr by any means. Best of luck to you.
