18 JAN 08,at approx. 10:15 pm, after my wife had been home for about an hour after work began complaining of headaches and asked me to get her Ibuprofen. I gave her 800 MG of ibuprofen and she remained seated on her chair in the living room. About 10 minutes later, she complained of having to sharp painful aches on the right side of her head. She said she was okay but a few minutes later she started to say that she did not feel right and that she felt funny. She says in recalling to me today, 19 Jan 08, that she felt she was fighting it but she can't remember much other than that.
While she was like this, I tried to talk to her and she kept closing her eyes and I would talk loudly to get her attention. She would respond after I repeated myself and barely open her eyes to respond. I noticed her eyes kept rolling back while she was trying to talk to me. I got her to get up and lay on the couch after a minute or so and carried her to the couch. She lay down and then almost immediately complained of being very cold. The temp in the house was 72 degrees at the time. She started to shake from being cold and I put a blanket on her. This lasted about 8-10 minutes and after she stopped complaining of cold then she stated that she was extremely tired and felt exhausted.

Here is what here sister, a nurse said about another incident that occured 25 Dec 07.
I believe that my sister had a seizure on Christmas day (December 25, 2007).

It all stared when she was complaining about a stiff neck and a headache for a couple days before the seizure. At around 6 p. m. on December 25, she was sitting down on the couch when she called me over to her and said that she was feeling funny and that she can't seem to breath. At that time, her eyes started to roll over in the back of her head. Tears was rolling down her eyes and as though she was attempting to say something. She became unresponsive and her breathing pattern became heavy and sporadic like. Her pulse was rapid (120 bpm). Her body stiffened but without the jerking motion. I performed a sternal rub but she did not respond to that. She was unresponsive for about 2-3 minutes. She started to salivate heavy but not foaming. Her respiration was about 12 a minute, and her pulse remained in upper 100s/minute. Then she started to open her eyes and was looking at me. It seems that she was trying to say something. I asked how she was feeling, she was trying to open her mouth to say something but it wasn't coherent. Her lips were shaking like a person having a chill from a fever. She got to say that she was really cold. About 2 minutes later, she started to stiffened her body again and her eyes rolled again. We put her on recovery position on the floor, and she started to salivate heavily again. Her breathing was about the same, but her pulse (radial) was about 115/minute. She became unresponsive again, and this time it was about 5 minutes. Finally, when she became responsive, she said that she feels very cold again, and that her whole body ached. We kept her in the recovery position for a few more minutes. After a while, about 15 minutes, we laid her down the couch. She started to be more responsive and coherent. She was telling us that she feels so tired and her whole body ached. Her breathing was normal, and her pulse slowly came to normal. We hydrated her. About 1 to 2 hours later, I asked what she remembered, and she said that she remember that she was calling me and feeling funny and it was blank after that. She still complained about a headache and a stiffened neck for 2-3 more days or so.

This event was witnessed by (name deleted), R. N.

I had my wife go see the doctor who ordered an MRI. The results indicated white spots on brain. They asked her if she has had head trauma, ie car accident, or hit head, but she has not. She will see a neurologist the first week of Feb 08.
She is Filipino, age 29, we have three kids, gallbladder removed 2001, one tonsil removed 2004, and is allergic to Reglan and benzocaine. SHe was diagnosed 3 yrs ago with subclinical hyperthyroidism also, but takes no meds for that. She continues to complain daily of pressure in head and headaches that tylenol and ibuprofren won't help. SHe feels run down too.

Hope this helps with your prognosis opinion.

Hi, thanks for your question. I'm happy that she will be seeing a neurologist shortly. If you can provide some images from the MRI, or the radiology report, I may be able to offer some information.

Based on the limited history available here, it is not possible to arrive at any guesses at the diagnosis, or prognosis.

Again I'm happy that the MRI has been done, and she has an appointment with the neurologist.

Please let us know what the neurologist says; we may be able to help you understand the situation then.
