I have a 3 year old daughter. She recently had a blood culture done that showed her white blood cell count was very low, 2.2, and her red blood cell count was 8.95. She also a urine sample taken that showed she has blood in her urine, this is no surprise to me because the blood in urine has been going on now for 8 months. We have seen a urologist specialist for the one problem but never heard anything back. What could be causing these symptoms and are the two related?

Various causes for abnormal cell counts in complete blood count (CBC) exist, ranging from a recent cold to more serious causes including hematological diseases such as leukemia. Abnormal counts in more than one cell line should be always evaluated by a hematologist or a pediatrician. Blood (or red blood cells) in urine should be followed up and evaluated if the finding persists. You should see a pediatrician and call the urologist to see how they plan to evaluate the findings.

Well the problem that I am facing with my 2 month old son cannot be related to the same problem as described here but he certainly has some problems with his blood and I have a doubt the doctors are not telling me clearly about this since I get tensed in such situations. He was suffering from jaundice which was treated but then one day his condition deteriorated all of a sudden and was required a readmission in the hospital. Can someone please tell me what can this be?

Was your infant jaundice at birth? Did you when taking him home have to take him back for blood work. Its not clear if this is just sometimes normal infant jaundice that usually clears up under dr. supervision or if after 2 months this is newly onset?
You are welcome to search via the search tool for infants and jaundice.
