I am 28 yrs old.I have had my tubes tied. For the past 2 yrs i have not had a period. My doctor wants to put me back on provera. The last time i took it 6 months ago, it made me have my period but it was awfull. My doctor says it is all because of my weight. What could cause this and should i seek a another doctor. I am concerned cause this isn't normal. Everytime i have a medical problem it has been my weight with my doctor.

Believe it or not your weight can directly effect your menses and even make them non existent, and even set you up for future medical conditions. So I tend to agree with your dr. I'm not sure how much your overweight but starting a weight loss program now could greatly benefit you and even some weight loss may help your menses return. Eat a healthy diet and portion control and be active. You may even discuss this with your dr. for a diet to follow. Good Luck
